What Makes a Successful Grant Application? – STEM and Arts
We recently published a successful grant application by Jonathan Jones. To provide real-world examples of how to successfully apply for funding for your school, we will share with you additional examples from our GetEdFunding subscribers that successfully obtained funding for their projects.
John Bowden has written multiple grant applications and won numerous grants over the course of his career. He has taught in Detroit, Michigan; New Jersey; and Marshall, Minnesota. Now retired, he was an educator for 41 years and currently donates his time as a volunteer tutor and “foster grandparent” at Talahi Elementary School in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
He applied for funding from the Central Minnesota Arts Board for a project called “STEM Plant Life and Artistic Paintings.” The grant amount he requested was $3,000. The objective was to educate students about arts and visual perspectives as well as STEM in a multidisciplinary project. This is an extensive application and you can open and view it in full by clicking this link or the image below.
