American Honda Foundation Education Grants

The American Honda Foundation supports education with a specific focus on the areas of STEM; the environment; job training; and literacy. It engages in grant making that reflects the basic tenets, beliefs, and philosophies of Honda companies, which are characterized by the following qualities: imaginative, creative, youthful, scientific, humanistic, and innovative.
Deadlines: For new applicants, applications are due February 1 and August 1, annually. For returning applicants, applications are due May 1, annually.
Toshiba America Grant Program for 6-12 Science and Math Educators
Sponsored by Toshiba America Foundation
Toshiba America Foundation accepts applications from teachers who are passionate about making science and mathematics more engaging for their students. The foundation seeks to support teachers by providing funds to support classroom projects. Successful projects tap into the natural curiosity of students, enable students to frame their own scientific questions, and incorporate the expertise of community partners. Applications must be for project-based learning.
Deadlines: Applications are accepted year-round for requests less than $5,000. Requests for grants of more than $5,000 are due June 1 and November 1, annually.
Music Education Grants
Sponsored by The Mockingbird Foundation, Inc.
The Mockingbird Foundation offers grants to public schools and nonprofit organizations to support projects in music education. The primary focus is students, ages 18 and younger, with particular interest in projects that target underserved children. The foundation funds projects that foster creative expression and promote self-esteem in any musical form (including composition, instrumentation, vocalization, or improvisation), and encourages applications associated with diverse or unusual musical styles, genres, forms, and philosophies.
Deadline: August 1, annually
Annual Grant Program

The Foundation for Rural Service provides a variety of programs ranging from youth-based initiatives and educational materials to consumer awareness and rural economic development. The foundation aims to improve educational achievement in rural communities across the country with projects that will have a long-lasting effect on the community. Educational grants support education technology (such as computers), curriculum development, extracurricular activities, and distance learning programs.

Charitable Contributions Grant

Aflac’s philanthropic efforts can be seen in the areas of health, education, youth, and the arts through out the communities in which it lives and does business. Through its Charitable Contributions Grant, nonprofit organizations can apply under one of the following areas of need: children and youth, education, environmental, health and human services, civic and community, arts and culture, and minority.
