Computers for Learning Program
Sponsored by US General Services Administration

The Computers for Learning (CFL) program evolved as a guide for implementing Executive Order 12999, Educational Technology: Ensuring Opportunity for all Children in the Next Century. The executive order encourages agencies, to the extent permitted by law, to transfer excess computers and related peripheral equipment directly to schools and some educational nonprofit organizations. The CFL program specifically matches the computer needs of schools and educational nonprofit organizations with excess equipment in Federal agencies. The CFL program’s goal is to make modern computer technology an integral part of every classroom so that every child has the opportunity to be educated to his or her full potential.

Fluor believes education, particularly the disciplines of STEM, is a foundational component of success in the twenty-first century. Therefore, Fluor supports higher education and university STEM programs, as well as those benefitting students in kindergarten through grade 12, with particular emphasis on STEM teaching training, professional development, and middle and high school STEM programs.

Patterson Partnership Grants

James Patterson’s $1.75 Million Giveaway to Support Classroom Libraries sweepstakes from Scholastic Book Clubs provides Patterson Partnership Grants to build a classroom library. Eligible applicants are US teachers in prekindergarten through grade 12.

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation supports organizations that serve lower-income individuals and assist vulnerable and at-risk populations in the communities in which they reside. Program areas include older adult services, workforce development, basic human needs and health, disabilities, education, and general community support. The education program area focuses on early childhood education, STEM, and out of school time.

Education and Youth Grants

The Webb Family Foundation makes grants in the areas of education; youth development; career and workforce readiness; financial literacy; entrepreneurship; science, technology, engineering, and mathematics; digital and blended learning; and youth mentorship. The foundation supports programs and projects that target underserved children and youth. The foundation gives preference to applicants serving children in the Bay Area of California.
