5 Grants to Kick-start Your School Year
It’s back to school season and students aren’t the only ones buying school supplies! Teachers and administrators are also doing quite a bit of their own shopping to make sure they’re prepared to help students succeed. Back to school shopping can really add up. Check out these funding opportunities to help off set costs:
Vernier Technology Awards
Sponsored National Science Teachers Association and Vernier Software and Technology
The Vernier Technology Awards, presented by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), recognize the innovative use or potential use of data collection technology using a computer, graphing calculator, or other handheld in the science classroom. In addition to a cash prize, recipients receive $3,000 in Vernier products. Science educators from kindergarten through the college level that reside in an NSTA district are eligible to apply.

Classroom Grants
Sponsored by Association of American Educators Foundation
Classroom grants from the Association of American Educators (AAE) Foundation can be used for a variety of projects and materials, including but not limited to books, software, calculators, mathematics manipulatives, art supplies, audio-visual equipment, lab materials, and more.
Deadline: October 1 and March 1, annually
YouthTouch STEM Grants
Sponsored by Goldenrod Research Corporation
The Goldenrod Research Corporation supports hands-on technology in the classroom through its YouthTouch Grant. Hands-on technology education tools bring mathematics and science to life for schools that then become pilot or referral sites for YouthTouch. The grant program provides an opportunity to affordably integrate hands-on robotics and fluid power technology into grades 3 through 8 classrooms.
Deadlines: February 28, May 30, and September 30, annually
$2,500 Grant Program
Sponsored by Farmers Group, Inc., Thank America’s Teachers
Through the Thank America’s Teachers, Farmers Group, Inc. is awarding grants up to $2,500 each to teachers across America that can be put towards classroom supplies through AdoptAClassroom.org. The contest is open to full-time teachers in kindergarten through grade 12 schools.

Target Field Trip Grants
